Pickleball
Pickleball is new to the CSSC lineup for Winter 2027: a co-ed league on Tuesday evenings at the Atlantic Pickleball Club in Stratford.
The Atlantic Pickleball Club is our new partner, and we're starting with Learn 2 Pickleball on Friday, November 20, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The lesson and equipment are provided, it's $10 per player, and you can register by emailing charlottetownsport@gmail.com.
Pickleball This Winter
A new co-ed pickleball league on Tuesday evenings. Winter registration opens at 12:01 am on Monday, November 23, and winter leagues start the week of January 4. More details are coming soon.
How Pickleball Works
- Pickleball is played with a paddle and a light plastic ball with holes, on a court about a third the size of a tennis court. League games are usually doubles.
- The serve is underhand and goes diagonally across the court.
- The ball has to bounce once on each side before anyone can hit it out of the air.
- The area right in front of the net, called the kitchen, is a no-volley zone: you can only hit the ball there after it bounces.
- Games are usually played to 11, and you have to win by 2.
Every league also follows the club policies and code of conduct. More questions? Email charlottetownsport@gmail.com or call or text 902-631-3499.
